There is already drinking in public. In fashionable parts of most cities and town, people sit at tables on the sidewalk and have a few drinks, smoke, and make loud noises. Oftentimes, these same restaurants are in what are known as "drug-free" zones.

In other words, some drugs are better than others, and if you bribe the city or town officials, drugs are permitted.

Not so long ago, I would sit in city parks and have a few beers, on a picnic table. The cops would roll by and not bother me or my friends. Same for the beach. We would go and camp on the beach, build a bonfire, drink beer and wine and some herb, and no one would bother us.

In the morning, the State Police would roll up in a SUV and remind us to put the fire out completely and pack out our trash.

It is no longer like this.

We are becoming a gated world.
