Implicit in your remarks is the notion that the U.S. action in Iraq has promoted terrorism all around the world against anyone connected to the U.S.
Assuming that is your position, how do you account for the terrorist attacks targeting the U.S. prior to the Iraqi invasion, including not only 9/11, but the prior attack on the World Trade Center, the Cole, the bombing of an embassy, etc. etc. etc.
Further, how do you account for OBL's declaration of war on us in 1998?
Moreover, if, as you contend, virtually all terrorism around the world, at bottom, targets the U.S., when do you think that began, and why?
More importantly, what do you believe is the solution?
And even more critically, do you assess any blame at all to the terrorists themselves?
These are the serious questions we face, and have faced, for a long time.
The blame game during a political season, imo, does nothing to further our interests. The question is where do we go from here? |
