"What do you think the mortgage write off for two homes is?"
It's the same "loophole" available to everybody.
"How about the Social Security cut off?"
There is a cap on what you get, and a cap on what you give. No break here. Make the contributions unlimited, and have the payoff go up correspondingly. And this is not Income Tax. It is the Federal Insurance Contribution Act. Make it voluntary.
"Smart people in business mix business with personal"
So what? Start a business. Unless they want to pay themselves nothing or close to nothing they are going to pay income tax like the rest of us. In addition to paying an additional 7 5/8% for their own salaries and ALL OF THEIR EMPLOYEES for FICA (up to the cap). Write off personal expenses as business and you are BREAKING THE LAW. Meals and entertainment (a part of doing business) you can only write off 50%. Wow.
"Like Steve Jobs gets a Jet"
His income is taxed like mine and yours (although at a higher rate than mine). The GREAT thing about America (to conservatives at least) is that if you have the brains, guts and motivation to do what Jobs did, you can do it too. The left likes to ostracize these people, and I think that is sick.
"Real Estate agents buy expensive cars. Contractors buy expensive trucks."
So what, and so what? If they use them for personal use and write them off, they are BREAKING THE LAW. And again, these are available to anybody. Some law against becoming a real estate agent or contractor I don't know about?
"Most rich people are smart enough to take advantage of the multitudes of loopholes that average people can't take advantage of"
Like I said, they have the same "loopholes" the rest of have. Like most with your view, seems to be more of a disdain for these people than admiration. The FACT is the richist people pay the most taxes. Bloodsuckers (like you?) want more of their hard earned dollars, and that is un-American in my opinion. The beauty of America is that we can all succeed. It should be admired. But there are a lot of bitter and jealous people out there who will hurt those they claim to care about by offering them a crutch instead of encouragment. By pitting one group unfairly against another (called class warfare). It's a free country, so they can do it. But it makes them look petty, greedy and whiny. |
