Mq, I believe in good fortune, because I do.
On the much more than ‘regrettable’ incident in Iraq prison that you mentioned, I am told it is all part of nation building, ‘democrazy’ teachings, and human value promotion. For it is far better to be forced to act out twisted sex acts by the American military under the command of Bush than it is to be slaughtered by thugs under orders from Saddam, or so I read between the lines.
The clash of civilizations is on, and whatever one may say about Asian values, making defenseless men partake in forced sex acts is not part of the ritual. Crony capitalism seems pretty tame kindergarten stuff in comparison.
I am guessing the top will take a page from ENRON Skilling’s prepared script, ‘I didn’t know what was going on, and so I am not responsible’.
The core is rotting, and the rot goes always to the top of the core, in a fundamental way.
Little wonder the US administration refuses to enter into the war crimes agreement. All is becoming clear to all.
The rule of law is no more, with extra-judiciary prison systems and accountability-free outsource interrogators, all paid for by willing taxpayers needing to tank up SUVs. Concentration camps next, after the institution of the draft.
I believe in fortune, and I believe in god, and god will sort out the bad from the good.
I happen to believe in the American people in the decent majority, and so let’s see if I will be disappointed come November.
Disgusted,
