Bandar promised to bring the prices down in the fall.
You can't have a steep drop and still gouge people unless you spike them up first.

Don't be a dupe. When you make the mistake of shunting aside an honest leader like McCain and put greedy Texas oilmen in power you get what you ask for. Texan oilmen LOVE high-high energy prices. They live for that. And if you think Cheney-Bush give a damn about the poor consumers, the deficits or the environment, think again. That's the last thing they think about. The only reason they'd try to bring the prices down again is if they can claim credit to help get them re-elected.

Same thing they did in 2000, remember? promised to bring them down and blamed Gore and Grey Davis for the gouging. Imagine that, the muggers blaming their victims for being mugged. Ed Gillespie of Enron did indeed deserve a promotion for pulling off that giant ripoff scam. I fuigure between the three big energy price spikes since 2000 they have ripped off close to 250 billion dollars from consumers, government and corporations. Then of course another 150 billion or more in Iraq. Nice haul for 4 years of hijacking the GOP and the nation.
