Wednesday August 20 8:21 AM EDT Saliva Diagnostic to sell HIV test in UK VANCOUVER, Wash., Aug 20 (Reuter) - Saliva Diagnostic Systems Inc said Wednesday that it will begin marketing its Saliva-Strip HIV test that uses saliva to detect HIV antibodies for professional use in the United Kingdom. The company said that Saliva-Strip HIV recently received a certificate of free sale from the Department of Health in the U.K., allowing the test to be distributed for professional use there and exported from the U.K. to other countries. The company said it intends to begin an aggressive sales campaign to introduce the rapid test to hospitals and clinicians. Saliva Diagnostic said it also plans to submit Stat-Simple pylori, a rapid whole blood test to detect Helicobacter pylori (a bacterium believed to cause peptic ulcers and gastric cancers) in the United Kingdom.
