Commentary from Briefing on the good ship Dell:

Remains to be seen whether Dell Computer will open on the defensive after it reported earnings that were five cents ahead of estimates, but a penny below the dreaded "whisper number"... Dell is trading 1 3/8 points lower on Instinet, yet Briefing contends its relatively impressive earnings report should overshadow its whisper number shortfall, and by day's end, is likely to be trading higher.

Let's hope Mike Dell pumps the stock at 10:30.
