The soldiers that did this just disgust me. They have shamed their own uniform. I hope they dishonorably discharge them, and throw the book at them.
They do not stand for America or our values.
We are going down a cruel, wrong road here. I hope those that would apologize for this kind of torture wake up and see the truth - that we have become the aggressors here. Not the good guys - that just BS fed to us by Faux News and others.
I'm surprised we don't see mass protests in the US to stop this. In WWII, as Jews were being captured, then gassed, the rest of the world didn't want to know.
We have US soldiers here - a few to be sure - but still a number of them torturing prisoners that we have lied to say we are freeing. It is a disgusting spectacle.
I truly feel that some would make excuses if we were executing them. We are always right - arene't we. We're the USA man - watch out - we do no wrong. We're the greatest. Bullsh*t! These pictures dispel this notion- and the rest of the world is getting sick of the Bush Bullsh*t. When will we stop accepting it?
I don't know. We seem to have become a nation of flag draped sheep - willing to stand in line and go to slaughter.
Pathetic.
(I posted this on another group - but thought I'd copy it here. I am really upset by this. I want the US to stand for helping the oppressed, and bringing freedom to the world. This incident has ruined any chance in Iraq IMHO. Maybe this is what they meant by shock and awe?? Shock and disgust is more like it. I tell you, seeing this, it made me really question how far off track the US has gone. It's not just about Bush now - how can soldiers that grew up in the US do this to others? Other humans that they are supposed to be helping. How many of those prisoners were even really fighting against the US? As you can see, this has really upset me.)
To me, it's on par with the sociopath that tortures animals for sport. I hope they throw the book at those bastards. I really do.
One hero here - a soldier - someone had the guts to say this was wrong - and turn these other bastards in.
That soldier truly is a US hero. I hope he gets a medal for it. ***
People have to speak up now. Don't let your right-wing friends tell you: poor national guard guys. they didn't even have training. what do you expect? Bullsh*t.
Tell them it is bullsh*t. They knew better. They abused their position of authority - to torture and taunt hooded prisoners. They suck. They are not honorable. They don't deserve the uniform they wear.
Don't let anybody tell you differently.
If people don't speak up, they condone their worse actions.
