You are more ignorant than I thought. A recommendation for an award is composed of statements from witnesses. These are the supporting documents I would like for the public to be able to review.

At one time, I read one in which it stated that they come around the bend in the river and here is a VC with a RPG aiming at their boat. The VC lowered his weapon and ran behind a building. This is when kerry jeopardized his crew and landed his boat. This was against standing orders of his unit. Anyway, he did, ran behind the building and found the VC who had run away and was cowering behind the said building. At this point kerry killed the VC.

Now if this account is true, then Kerry should have been put on trial for executing the VC. No, I don't have any love for the VC, but we do have rules of war. We also have a few people in the military who will ignore these rules and sometime receive support from superiors. This is why we have a female general who has been relieved of duty in Iraq. You think this was a tough decision. It could be considered politically incorrect to relieve a high ranking woman.

Anyway, cough up the 3 or 4 supporting documents which were utilized to award kerry the Silver Star. This could end this question real quick. However, it seems like they have conveniently disappeared.
