Read an editorial this morning in local newspaper calling for the Demos BSDs to dump Kerry because it is obvious to the author that Kerry can't defeat Bush. According to the editorial, any candidate who has to confect a new explanation for previous actions is dead in the water. The call is for the BSDs to draft Hillary. He gushed about how serious the debate would be with Bill stumping for his wife, how real choices could be made. A real puff piece on how wonderful a Hillary candidacy would be.

Naturally, the author did not discuss the explanations that Hillary would have to make for her peccadillos, or the effect having Bill as The Priapic First Husband would have on voters who don't care for dynasties or the Clintons.

The editorial is probably a Billary trial balloon to the Dem leadership. We'll see how much attention it gets.

Interesting thing is that at least some Dems apparently think Kerry is dead in the water seven months before the election. I don't see it this way, but Dems do have a habit of pissing inside the tent instead of outside.

Morris weighs in on the Hillary issue here. He seems certain Hillary wil be the VP candidate, and I agree. She's got nothing to lose by going for it. She can probably demand the spot if she wants it:
