<<<Why would you take a chance that the next 4 years will be any different than the last 4 years?None of us know what the future holds,BUT we sure know the past!!! >>>
It's going down the wire. The country is deeply divided. It is much more difficult defeating an incumbent President. All the bad news about George Bush has trickled out. He was a C student. He didn't study very hard in school. He didn't study very much while running for the Presidency (he didn't know who was at head of Pakistan). He didn't study very much while President (he didn't read all those intellgence reports about Al Qaeda) until after 911s. He made a small fortune in business in a very creative - others would say questionable - manner. There were no eye witness accounts of fellow officers or commanders that vouch for his attendance in the Alabama National Guards.
His supporters are solidly behind him - from George Wills, Billy Kristol, Pat Robertson, all Nascar affecionados, PFP threaders at SI, right wing militia, Fox news empire, Dick Morris, Bill O'Reilly, and all the Elmer Gantry types.
His supporters will in a concerted manner paint a picture that Senator Kerry, after being wounded in Combat, awarded medals for bravery under fire, volunteered for a second tour of duty in Vietnam, is a coward, weak on defense, and unpatriotic.
Nothing is going to change their minds. They will pretend they don't know that Laura, Barbara, the twins, Condi, and Karen are probably all pro-choice.
Meanwhile, in the Kerry camp, you have all the Ralph Nader types. If we don't stop all the polluters, then they are going to vote for George Nader, or not vote at all. If we don't stop all the killing, they are going to Canada - or drop out.
So if you do the math, you just have to wish George Bush the best and hope for a better second term. |
