Yes of course they were in the atmosphere and the sun was dimmer so the temperature was lower than it would be (but still up to 10C warmer than today) if we stuck them all back in the atmosphere again. Of course some part was in the mantle, some in comets etc. and that in the mantle was added by volcanos to the atmosphere over time temporarily and then reburied in the crust... But what I don't get is why you want it hot and a high sea level again instead of controling things to be nice and mild. We can or will be able to control the system to avoid an ice age it seems. That's not the same as just releasing all the stored carbon which could turn us into a Venus clone in all likelihood....

So yes I agree with you in principle but disagree with your "policy" proposal. Can you explain why you want it so hot and wet? It doesn't sound good for people for a start....
