Why? Militaries are supposed to be cruel and sadistic if they are going to be effective. Certainly we wouldn't want any sense of decency to destroy the effectiveness of the Empire's evil forward guard, would we?

If you examine the literature, you'll discover that less than 1% of the enlisted ranks of the U.S. military have ever read one paragraph on the proceedings at Nuremberg in the aftermath of World War II. Clearly, the Geneva Convention is something that is not taught to the troops, for fear that it might confuse them about their role as killers of foreigners.

Far better to let the troops make jokes like: "Join the Army, meet exotic peoples, and murder them."

This sort of joke gets a lot more attention than any discussion about the treatment of prisoner-of-war according to the Geneva Convention. Shit, dude, that old crap is just for wimps.
