WE ARE KILLING IRAQIS AT A FASTER RATE THAN SADDAM EVER DID, AND FOR EXACTLY THE SAME REASON HE DID: TO TRY AND BRING PEOPLE IN LINE
He Killed 300,000 Over 30 Years In Order To Get People To Behave? Well, We Killed Over 1,300 For The Same Reason Just Last Month Alone, And Are Killing At A Higher Pace Than He Did

Thomas J. Bico MAY 1, 2004 – People often ask us why we don’t post articles more frequently.
The simple reality is because our articles tend to be about 2 to 3 months ahead of themselves. This time, we were over 4 months ahead of everyone else.
On December 16, 2004, our John Ashton wrote an article titled; “Saddam Replaced by Another Saddam,” in which he pointed out that how we were acting in Iraq was very similar to how Saddam acted. The 300,000 people Saddam killed – one of the after-the-fact justifications President Bush uses to justify the invasion – were killed because they threatened his hold on power. He was brutal, murderous from the beginning, President Bush tells us, killing those around him who threatened his reign.
Well what the hell have we been doing all along? We made up a hit list of 52 people – remember, that deck of cards – and went about rounding them up and hunting them down. We blew away Saddam’s two sons – what had they done to us? Nothing, but we perceived them as a threat to our reign in Iraq. Yes, exactly what we complained Saddam had done, pick out those who would threaten his reign and blow them away.
Over 1,300 Iraqis dead just in April, and these are not ones that are even on a hit list. These are just ones who are not getting in line with our self-declared rule of Iraq – and hundreds of innocents killed along the way.
We have be using torture and cruel abuse of Iraqis, according to MSNBC and many other sources, in order to make people cooperate with us – just like Saddam would.
We control the media there and shut down any media that we don’t like the sound of. For example, the pictures of this abuse that the rest of the world is seeing is not appearing in Iraqi newspapers, according to MSNBC. Censorship, ala Saddam or the old Soviet Union.
And, as Ashton pointed out a while ago, we have weapons of mass destruction which we won’t give up and hold as a threat against anyone who would attack us – just like Saddam wanted. We wanted Saddam to exist between Iran and Syria while declaring it had no WMDs to protect itself with. He wouldn’t dare, and we won’t either.
How are we different so far? We found a cleric who didn’t like us or our presence, and so we set out on an offensive to kill him and his followers. How is this different from how Saddam treated the Kurds?
And let’s get past the feigned surprise.
As we wrote weeks ago in our article Hasn’t Anybody Ever Talked To A Republican, the same line follows – didn’t anybody talk to Bush-brand Republicans since the invasion of Iraq? If you had you would have heard what we have: people gloating about how we are likely abusing prisoners in order to get intel out of them; joking about how many shots of sodium pentothal this one must have had; laughing about how horrible the treatment must be in places like Guantanamo and Iraq.
Of course there is torture and abuse going on, and the simple reality is that Bush/Limbaughians have not only known this all along, but liked it. Joked about it. Been proud of it.
The world, and our nation, is shocked at the moment – this is what always happens when an honest glimpse at the reality the Bush/Limbaughians bring shows up. The fact is that the old Hitler mantra – which the Bushies follow – that the bigger, more horrible the lie the more people will deny it falls apart at some point, when truth inserts itself.
If these were allegations of abuse without photos, the Bushies would fire back at the unpatriotic liars, the untrustable Arabs, and Bush supporting Americans would believe it was all nonsense.
But, there is evidence on top of evidence on top of evidence. We are killing more Iraqis than Saddam ever did, solely for the sake of bringing people in line. We are abusing and torturing people. We have WMDs which we hold out as a threat against anyone who might attack us.
Tell us – and please, write to us at comments@moderateindependent.com if you think you have an answer – in what way are we not acting like Saddam, under the leadership of the Bush/Limbaughians. moderateindependent.com |
