Cost savings from Bush's pork barrel Medicare-drug company handout alone could be another 50 billion. Ending the war would save 100 billion. Closing tax loopholes 25 billion. etc. The tax cuts rollbacks for the rich are worth more than 200 billion when you add in estate tax cut roll-backs. ALl these are round numbers of course. But it's a lot more than 200 billion a year savings. Could also cut a few big useless defense contracts like new nukes, SDI (asuming it still doesn't work), etc. There's 25 billion there.

Kerry has honestly admited if the numbers don't add up he'll slash his programs until they do. He remains committed to balancing the budget in 4 years. Showing fiscal restraint and conservatism, unlike the Bush-Cheney-Delay spendamatic friends of the very rich.
