COMAPLEX MINERALS CORP. -- NOOMUT PROPERTY

CALGARY, August 20 /CNW/ - Comaplex Minerals Corp. (TSE Symbol; CMF) is
pleased to announce initial results from the 1997 Noomut Cold Project. The
43,300 hectare property is centered 170 kilometers west of the Hamlet of
Arviat, Kivalliq District of Nunavut Region, Northwest Territories, and is
owned 100% by Comaplex.
The following five diamond drill holes, spaced from 100 to 225 meters
apart, were drilled on the new Esker I Zone discovered this summer.

The Company is very encouraged with the results from these initial five
holes. All holes have intersected a large east trending, altered shear zone,
Holes 13 and 15 are especially encouraging, having encountered high grade
mineralization over significant widths. Drilling on the Esker Zone is
continuing.
