Zell Miller is a joke. What exactly is it that he wants the Democratic party to become? I mean, they're already much more conservative/centrist than they were in decades past, as the Republicans have moved to the right. What does Miller advocate, two rightwing parties? It's also funny that Zell Miller heaps praise on FDR, the one Democrat who really was out of the mainstream, and brought many of the social reforms that benefitted the working class for generations, like the 40 hour work week, right to form labor unions, minimum wage, etc. I think Zell is just upset because the Democrats have blown off the Dixiecrats ghosts of generations past. It's a bitterness that his wing of the party is being blown off. Rightfully so, let the Republicans have the ractist Dixiecrats, they don't belong in the Democratic party.
