Madharry, do you get free Level II with Fidelity? In my opinion, unless you are a very active trader, even a $5 difference in commissions is immaterial. It is products (free Level II) and service (when you have a problem) that make a difference worth far more than a few bucks on a trade. I have Ameritrade Plus, which is the successor to National Discount Brokers, which they acquired some time ago. I pay a negotiated $15 for any trade (limit, market, or through a live broker) and have an assigned personal broker to handle any issues - and he does a good job. I also have negotiated a margin rate of Prime - 1/4%, which is competitive with home equity line rates, so I have complete financial flexibility.
