If we can save the salmon for their own good, as opposed to our own agenda, that would be the ideal. Yes, and actually, the ideal should really be to save the streams and rivers for their own good. That's really where a lot of the problem lies. We tend to emphasize the survival of a single species because it is endangered, or beautiful, or tasty, or cute, or.... When what we should really be concerned about is the destruction of habitat and the greater ecosystem, because that kind of destruction tends to have a domino effect in both directions.. down to the smallest organism, and collectively... up to the entire ecosphere.
