Most americans, I am guessing, like to believe that they are being fair.
Well in the case of Iraq, the US administration was the judge, jury, excutioner and prime witness at the same time. As a prime witness, the administration may have committed the equivalent of perjury. So US has lost a great deal of credibility. After all, that was one of the things supposed to separate us from lesser countries, where leaders are held less responsible to the truth.
On the issue of money spent, do you want to give back Kuwait to Iraq? After all Iraqis also spent their money and lives to conquer Kuwait. Is this a business venture? Whoever sponsors the looting expedition owns the loot?

>Let me ask you a question. Why should it be fair? The US has spent, or will eventually spend, well over $200 Billion (before all is said and done), containing, invading, and rebuilding Iraq from the ground up. And that doesn't even mention the cost in precious American lives to carry out such a mission.> |
