BTW, speaking of recycling....

For those who haven't already connected, check out this site for info on joining a Freecycle network in your area.

In a nutshell, groups have been forming in various cities or regions. People use the net to post objects that they are willing to give away (usually something they might have junked and that would have ended up in a landfill site somewhere). They make a post saying "OFFER: blah-blah-blah", with a description of the object. If you want it, you email the person and arrange to pick it up. When the object is gone, the person posts a "CLAIMED: blah-blah-blah" message so that everyone knows the object is now gone. Very interesting to see the stuff that is changing hands for free -- building materials, computers, bicycles, furniture, etc.. Terrific idea and it sure seems to be catching on like wildfire. Good to see all of this stuff enjoying a second life instead of being hauled off to a landfill site.
