MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Sen. John Kerry is scheduled to be in Minnesota this evening for fund-raisers at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Kerry campaign officials hope to raise a half million dollars. They're hosting two events for the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee at the convention center. There will be a reception for people who contribute $1,000 or $2,000. The main gathering costs $75. Students will pay $35.

Singer Carole King will appear at the convention center.

One week ago President Bush was in the Twin Cities. Bush raised $1 million for the Republican National Committee.

After the official Kerry campaign fund-raisers, the Democratic National Committee will host a dessert fund-raiser with Kerry at which it expects to raise $250,000.
