The western press (and more exactly the US Press) is about freedom of the press. It's not about propaganda. Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather, Ted Koppel, Tom Friedman, Helen Thomas, Bill Moyer, Walter Kronkite, Jim Lehrer and all the other US Journalists are not idiots. They are not anti US. They are what makes us great. An open Press. We report anything and everything. The journalists themselves are not that important. It's all about the system. It is about openness. Reporting the good and the bad. At the end of the day truth emerges.

It would be nice if the American press were not biased and merely reported the news. But, they do not. They place their spin, or the news service corporate spin, on any major news. And it is all the more obvious during election years for the White House. BTW, openness is good. Its the spin which is not because it removes the accuracy of the event. Sometimes we get the truth. Many times we get the media's version of the truth. Has access to the internet made reading of the news better for us or worse? I don't know. It certainly has given us more to think about (and much more to read).
