At one time, wealth was an indication of hard work, perseverance, and integrity; aka the Protestant work ethic. We now know that many who exhibit the signs of wealth are crooks and cheats. I have no statistics (the statistics would indicate only those that have been caught, prosecuted, and found guilty) but the level of crime, blue-collar and white is on the rise, from purse-snatching, home invasions, ID theft to corporate shenanigans.
