I do not support the murder of innocent persons (women and children or otherwise). Any civilian deaths have been the result of military targets using them as shields (fighting from an urban defense) as far as I know. Or as mistakes and collateral damage.

I opposed the sanctions because they targeted the innocents to put pressure on the Iraqis to boil up into a revolution against Saddam. I was not aware of the level of seriousness regarding the Cancer issue until I read the article you posted today, but I believe it is real. I don't believe it is or was the intent of the US govt to cause this sickness and it is not fair to put the blame on either side for what is an unforeseen tragedy of war.

Finally, It would be fine with me if Iraq becomes three or more new countries. That may, in fact, be the long term result. However, it wouldn't be an easily determined outcome and not without a great deal of violence and upheaval.
