You posed the issue of a split up Iraq. If that were the outcome I would not have a problem with it. Now you come back saying it is an impossibility. I don't have a problem with a United Iraq either.

You may be right about the blood bath. What you don't seem to want to acknowledge is that if not for the US involvement, that is what would be happening right now. I wish we could just pull out and leave them to sort it out for themselves, but that would not be responsible at this point and time. We need to do the best we can to support the establishment of a strong coalition government that will protect the minority sub-cultures once we leave. I don't see an alternative ... do you?
