thecow, Suma should determine whether his touchpad is a Synaptics. If yes, download the newer driver [link is in one of my previous posts to him]. Then he can decrease touchpad sensitivity. That worked for me in eliminating disappearing text when typing and I've seen that others had the same problem as well and solved it that way.
