That is one of the more verbose examples of denial I have seen in a long time :-)
First - I didn't ask you about a lecture on international treaties. I gave you the definition of crimes against humanity and asked if you agree that it fits the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Here it is again. And I am asking you the same question again.
--------------------------- Nuremberg Principles, August 8, 1945
CHARTER OF THE INTERNATIONAL MILITARY TRIBUNAL AUGUST 8, 1945
[Signatories: USA, USSR, Britain, France]
c) Crimes against humanity: namely, murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation, and other inhumane acts committed against any civilian populations, before or during the war; or prosecutions on political, racial or religious grounds in execution of or in connection with any crime within the jurisdiction of the Tribunal, whether or not in violation of the domestic law of the country where perpetrated.

Second - I don't know what you are talking about re "once the Axis powers (Germany, Italy, and Japan) engaged in behavior that violated international norms, there was no obligation to follow those norms. Indeed, once they cheated". Look at the signatories of THESE principles, above. See any Germany there? Any Japan?
Third - Now answer the question, if you will. Does the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki fit the definition of a crime against humanity or not? |
