as an interesting side, I went to an art exhibit in Chicago last week - large important exhibit

many of his works [Rembrandt] displayed were quite tiny, so tiny you needed a magnifying glass to pick up the nuances

it was very crowded as the exhibit is closing and I'm sure the laggers [like me] wanted to squeeze it in before it left the area

so we have small pieces, tight quarters and crowds, but well worth working through the hurdles

in came a group of French viewers with the manners of porcs - speaking out loud at every piece, pointing, explaining I suppose, blocking views and not moving for others

they were not asked to leave, but I think they were asked to behave and tone it down - they did neither, so I and most others, skipped to an exhibit room ahead to get away from they

met up with them in the gift shop, where they did the very same thing by all the Rembrandt books and catalogs of the exhibit - standing there blocking the books, paging through them, not moving when asked

so I reached through them, nabbed my book and left

not a nice French cultural encounter
