Do I become a vigilante to save one child, when to do so damages the fabric of society and hurts everyone? What fabric? Listen.. I have Iraqi friends (had lunch with one today).. Their social "fabric" has been torn apart by 30 years of despotic rule and war.. She came here in '91 right after the gulf war... It seems that all she's known is war.. either with Iran, or Kuwait, and then the US, and so on... So what social fabric are we referring to??.. If a criminal gang has taken over an entire municipality and subjugated the population to its will and intimidation, then what's left for them to do but leave any way that they can, or to assimilate and join the gang.. And what happens if that already despotic gang is threatened by an even worse bunch of thugs?? You HAVE to become a vigilante.. Because the norms of law and order have effectively ceased to exist. And when that occurs, the law of the jungle takes over.. The law imposed by the "top dog" upon the rest of the pack.. I am not willing to become what I wish to fight, in order to fight it more effectively. Also known simply as "the meek shall inherit the sh*t"... Face it X.. These militants could care less whether you are willing to "debase" yourself to their level of thinking.. They'll just kill you, or put you in such a state of terror that you don't dare to raise a finger to oppose them.. Hawk
