Jilbey sees gold in Bissa assay results

2004-05-04 08:46 ET - News Release

Mr. Gregory Isenor reports

JILBEY GOLD INTERSECTS 20 METERS OF 6.09 G/T GOLD IN BISSA CORE DRILLING

Jilbey has released high-grade gold assay results from its diamond core drilling program on the Bissa deposit located in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Significant drill results to date include 6.09 grams per tonne over 20 metres, 9.24 g/t over 10 metres and 4.59 g/t over 24 metres.

The drill program is designed to define and potentially expand the Bissa deposit (see Stockwatch dated March 8, 2004). A total of 80 holes are planned, 30 are complete and assays have been received on the first 16 diamond drill holes. Significant results are reported in Table 1 below. Drilling is continuing and is expected to be completed near the end of May with all assay results received by the end of June. Upon completion of the drilling program, all project data will be integrated and it is planned that an independent mineral resource estimate will be commissioned for the Bissa Hill deposit. A complete list of diamond drill holes and results will be posted on the Jilbey Web site at www.jilbey.com.

Jilbey controls approximately 800 square kilometres around the Bissa deposit which is located roughly 150 kilometres southwest of High River Gold Mines' planned Taparko mill. The permits contain the 22-kilometre Sabce shear zone in which the Bissa deposit is located as well as several prospective areas which the corporation will be exploring in the next months.

Preparation and gold analysis of the drilling samples are performed at Abilab West Africa SARL in Bamako, Mali. Samples are analyzed for gold by fire assay on 50-gram subsample with an atomic absorptions spectroscopy (AAS) finish. A gravimetric finish is performed systematically on samples containing more than 5 g/t Au. In addition to the usual internal laboratory quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) data, sample grind size data are monitored by Jilbey staff to insure proper pulverization. During the current drilling campaign, Jilbey has implemented a comprehensive QA/QC program which includes inserting a minimum of 10 per cent control samples (5 per cent blanks and 5 per cent standards) in the sample stream. Blind repeat assaying at the original laboratory and check assaying at a North American accredited laboratory are planed at the end of the drilling campaign. Greg Isenor, PGeo, president of Jilbey, a qualified person as defined under the Canadian Securities Administrators' National Instrument 43-101, is responsible for program supervision.
