box-down-by-the-river was a poster that i found profitable to read. it'd be appreciated if you could possibly let him back in. regarding political topics in investment thread, it is technically possible to permit a clean mix of topic and off-topic content, if you have the programming resources. for example, you might consider adding a flag that each poster must set to indicate off-topic posting. members not interested in off-topic posts can simply set "hide off-topic posts" much as they can hide "original post". an approach such as this will avoid sacrificing the subculture aspect of threads in the altar of focused topical discussions.
