I've only been three times but Boracay always had a sinister side, like when the head of the longboatmans association told the Norwegian fellow who wanted to start a hovercraft service to bring tourists from the mainland airport tot he island: "The first tourist to step off your hovercraft will get a bullet through their head." A few weeks later the brother of the head of the longboatmans association was found murdered, reputedly by the head of the underemployed Philippinos who were to work fro the Hovercraft company. I have many other stories, but this isn't the place for them.
