"The Purple Heart is given for ANY wound, even a minor one." Yes AS. During Vietnam, even little boo-boos that only need a small band aid could get a Purple Heart. And if you get three of them, those three boo-boos could allow you to demand to be shipped back home so you can kick start your political career by joining the Anti-war movement. One caveat. A Purple Heart is warranted for injuries sustained during an engagement with the enemy. And I believe it needs to be caused by the enemy, or at least not self inflicted when not engaging the enemy....... Message 20094237
