Mike, We agee. I laugh at those arab idiots and apologists. One former saddam prisoner said this was worse than saddam. Back in 1968 soldiers, resistors, deferrment getters had two things in common--we all listened to the same music and we were kids. And kids make mistakes. No one cares that Bush was not often seen in alabama. No one cares that clinton was writing letters to the draft board. No one cares that cheney was deferring his way out of service as I did and NO ONE cares that kerry got a purple heart he may not have deserved. You folks are delusional if you think this slur on the record of a man who volunteered to go to vietnam in the first place will have anything but a negative effect on the bush reeelection campaign. You are creating the seeds of your own defeat. Read brooks op ed yesterday in the NYT. He is a con but he speaks the truth about kerrys stealth move to the middle at the same time that nationally bush credibility is shrinking. Watch the next set of polls to see a bit of that. But Kerrys strength will grow in any case unless bush acts the part of the ceo and fires the mistake makers in the admin. Yesterday i said mccain for rummy. Today i say move Powell to Defense and bring in a fresh face at State. Perhaps Lindy Bill? I have studied elections for years and i am more right than wrong. Being an independent, i deliberately open myself up to shifting tides on a daily basis. Today my thought is that i supported bush because he was a ceo who hired competent guys who came up with competent plans. Today i am shaken to my core because that does not appear to be the case. So the brooks version of a kerry admin with bob rubin, and hal?? holbrook, plus a few republicans may be an option for me. So if you want to get my vote back, you shouldnt tell me about kerry killing vin foster or shacking up with some lady journalist or tripping over a tin can to get a purple heart. What you need to do is to convince bush to act the part of a ceo. What you need to do is convince me that brooks will be wrong and what we will get is Teddy Kennedy in the Whore uh uh i mean White House. (g). I am trying to help because i think bush has it right on the WOT and what he needs is a new team to implement the strategy based on facts on the ground TODAY and then tomorrow and so on. Mike
