Life is full of what ifs.

I'm thinking that Kerry did some things in Nam that he was ordered to do. That at the time when he was doing it, he thought he was doing the right thing. As often happens in this life we do things that we think are the right thing to do...then later we realize that it was not the right thing to do.

In war there are always gray areas. If you're ordered to shell a Falujah neighborhood, do you get out the UCMJ and the Geneva convention to challenge your commanding officer's order?

But once you have realized that wrongs were done, then the proper course of action is to try to undo those wrongs. Kerry joined with other veterans. Discussed what they did and why. And ultimately testified in front of congress about his experiences and what went wrong there in Vietnam.

I think that the criticism of Kerry's service record by the republicans is all about politics. There wasn't this much focus on Lt. Calley, who was actually convicted of war crimes.

I've spent the time looking into the insinuations that
Kerry was a war criminal, and so far there is no evidence that suggests that he was. Funny how no one will come out and say that "Kerry is a war criminal". I think that says it all.
