Why don't you just admit or deny the following...
Once again, this is the strawman argument. I have never stated that the administration was given precise information about the exact 9/11 attack. Implied in that is that they did not perform the attack themselves.
Since they didn't know the precise details they certainly couldn't express a preference for that particular attack one way or the other.
But make no mistake, I do say the neocons wanted U.S. interests to be attacked! They wanted a dramatic and traumatic event to allow them to begin a series of conquests. They documented their desire.
If you can remember back to 2001, I think the attack that they were most trying to provoke was to get an American plane shot down over Iraq. Do you remember how they increased the flights and bombings over the no-fly zone? Do you remember how they began knocking out "other installations" within cities and not in the no fly zones for each time a radar tracked them? Do you remember the mounting toll of civilians killed in these attacks? I do. They were practically begging Saddam to shoot a plane.
Well, that didn't work. Remember in 2001 when they learned from the chatter that Osama, who was never more than their second choice for enemy, was planning something big. Really big. Something never before seen big?? No? Well neither do I because the neocons uttered not a peep. Sure, Ashcroft was scared away from the airlines, but none of the airlines were alerted to the unprecidented warnings of impending hijackings. None of the FBI offices were told to be on the lookout for terrorist trouble. Even the President when given briefing papers that said Osama is going to attack any day now, was told by his neocons to go to Crawford, knock back, and think deep thoughts about stem cells.
In the meantime the neocons gathered in the White House and waited. What were they waiting for? I'm sure they didn't exactly know. They were waiting for something extraordinary and unprecidented, something that was scaring the socks off of Richard Clarke, they were waiting for an attack! They still weren't issueing alarms, they still weren't telling Bush that stem cells and golf could wait, they were waiting for an attack, Because they wanted one to further their agenda.
That is the short, sick American history of the 21st century.
