yes I see where you are going, and you have a point, but the fact is that the employer can always do what Oracle did... fire you 24 hrs before you are set to collect... and then what do you have?

But anyway I used to argue against options expensing and now I don't because I think there is too much concentration of options towards the top, and my support of options was always directed towards keeping engineering talent local. So, I gave up and I am really expecting that once these things are expensed that we start to see some *control* on these executive pay packages. The worst offenders are actually the companies that have a huge number of VPs, imho. I really think some like Cisco have way more VPs than are necessary now, when the cut down staff from the 90s they didn't cut the management, or didn't cut it enough. JMO.
