How many troops are presently on German soil?

The last I recall there are about 70k, and whenever we attempt to remove them there is a big scream from the German gov't. Originally, of course, we stayed there to prevent further adventures by the Russians during the Cold War. The hundreds of millions of dollars a year that the military and their dependents spend is a large part of the Germany economy, even discounting the rental fees for the military installations and cost of the Germans who receive pay for guarding these establishments. All this adds up to billions for the german economy.
