Sberbank Ready to Give Irkutskenergo Credit to Repair Bratsk GES Turbines (Press release)

MOSCOW, October 6 /PRRussia/ - Russia's Sberbank is ready to extend a ten-year credit to Irkutskenergo to repair turbines of the Bratsk GES hydro-electric power plant. Replacing all turbine wheels will cost about $36 million. The upgrading project will take ten years, with two turbine wheels, each estimated at $2m, to be replaced annually. Note: The Bratsk GES hydro-electric power plant has an installed capacity of 4,500 MW (18 turbines, each with a capacity of 250 MW). Its projected annual capacity is 22.6 billion kWh. The Bratsk GES was commissioned in 1961.
