I expect that the prices of oil and gas will be more sensitive to inflation, and will go up first. If some supergiant fields are found in North America, this will not be true ;-). But it's a pretty safe bet. So the energy trusts are likely to be a good bet until inflation slows down.

When inflation slows, REITs, whose leases and rents tend to lag (because of multi-year leases) will tend to catch up.

Then we look for the next asset class....
