I'm sure all of our service members over in the mid-east appreciate your support..

Thank you Hawk, I'm sure they do.

See, I did the same thing you did. I took a remark that was clearly meant as a "tongue in cheek" statement and pretended it was not. That's kind of deceptive, isn't it?

But if any service members in mid-east read this thread, they'll not find any instance when I've made any serious comment that doesn't show a heartfelt concern for the troops in Iraq or Afghanistan. For instance:

I've never stated that x hundred number of dead or injured soldiers "isn't that bad" considering the number that died in (you choose) Vietnam, auto accidents, etc.,

I've never stated that at the rate we're losing troops it would take years to lose x number of dead, and

I've never been a cheerleader talking about how tough they are and how they'll kick ass over there as if it's a big game that "we'll win."

What I have done is take the cost in lives and blood that our soldiers are paying into account in almost every one of my posts that discusses the justification for entering the war, and for continuing the occupation.

Can you say the same?

I suggest you recognize that your anger is directed at my posting style or my positions that counter those you clearly hold with such strong emotion. In your generally black and white world it may be that you feel the need to villify anyone that effectively espouses a point of view that contravenes your own, but I suggest that you step back and consider.

Intolerance is not a virtue when it comes to discussing matters of great import with those whose motives and dedication to liberty and freedom are as great as your own.
