Someone was manipulating this stock for a good run today by doing the PUT thing. Look at the volume (or lack thereof) and OI (or lack thereof) on all UTEK options available, with particularly close attention to those puts. I took this as a sign to load up on some calls. I picked up insignifcant calls (~5) at a few strikes and a few expiry dates as not to be noticed. When UTEK hit 27 this morning, the orders were to dump the calls. Fast Bucks for this experiment. Proves to me you have someone playing UTEK as a manipulation.
There is a thread that does a great job describing options plays and how a market maker could play calls and puts against inventory or a short to almost guarantee profits. It still looks slihjtly greek to me but, if I am correct, and it seems I was, someone is enjoying making a quick 5% or more on UTEK by screwing with it. Naughty Naughty, whoever you are.
Now that I am onto to it, I will be watching. Next time, I may plunge for more calls. If you can't beat em, join in the pillage. After all, as it was stated, GOING DOWN 6% WHEN EVERYONE ELSE IS GOING UP????
