It serves both of them better to let him clean it up. Ultimately, that sends a stronger, more powerful message.

Keeping Tenet and not keeping Rumsfeld is certainly not going to "energize the base".

Unfortunately, this administration is beginning to shift too easily based on public opinion (Arab public opinion and the media). Fallujah is an example of this. The apologies yesterday on behalf of the US for the actions of a few morons is another.

PS: Is anyone else wondering whether David Gregory is auditioning for Al Jazeerah?
