Who should take responsibility for the atrocities that have taken place in Iraq under Bush's watch?
Unfortunately the people running the prisons seemed to think that abusing prisoners, stripping them naked, making then perform sex acts, sodomizing them with sticks and chemical lights, hooking up electrodes to their bodies, hooding them, beating them, and in one case murdering a prisoner is proper in a US run facility.
I ask how can this kind of behavior possibly occur in a detainment facility run by the United States?
I ask everyone reading this to contact the President and your congressional members and ask them to do the following:
Dear Mr. President / Dear congress person,
Please make sure that the following actions are taken in Iraq:
1. Put responsible people in charge of every detainment facility in the world that is run by the US. These people shall have the full confidence of every person in the chain of command up to the President of the United States. We the people of the United States will not tolerate the kind of abuse that has been reported. We abhorred it from Saddam, and we will not allow it under our watch.
2. Examine and remove any person that acted unlawfully, witnessed such activity and remained silent, or covered up this activity, or any personnel responsible for the actions of these people, or any person that should have had direct control of the activities of these facilities, or any contractor that engaged in these practices, or any one responsible for engaging or directing these contractors.
3. The leaders of this country should have the proper personnel in charge of these facilities immediately, so that any other further abuse of prisoners should reflect incompetence at the highest levels. This activity must come to an end now. Hereafter, the responsibility for any other unlawful acts inside detainment facilities shall be borne by those at the highest levels of government.
