Also, Korea is not really on the Middle East radar screen.
But I understand why you think in those terms.

As far as the US not wanting unification of North and South Korea.

Seems perfectly possible to me. Should the North have a change of heart. Would those in the south accept the Norths form of government? I don't think too many would.
