The Bushes are very rich, the most elite and powerful family in the country. Their money goes back to the days of European royalty and they are very blue blooded WASP. They are also very close with big oil and industrial tycoons, CEO's and king-makers. None of their kids have ever gone to public school, I guarantee you that, nor have any of them ever served in combat.

That's why it's ironic that the rightwing attacks Kerry as an "elitist". Except for his phony corn pone accent GW has never really mixed with normal people in his life. He went to Andover-Yale-Harvard then right into the Big Oil elite. Kerry fought side by side with average people in battle.
When you bleed with them then you become one with them. Bullets have no respect for class and money on the battlefield. Bush never dared to find that out. He went AWOL.
