Yes, the Euro market seems to be ahead of the digital trend, especially as regards support from THEIR governments. Just like heavily subsidized aircraft industries, agricultural businesses, military industrial complexes, etc. And I'm reminded Israel has already launched HDTV capable digital satellites. Like it. I BELIEVE the euro digital standards are compatible with our ZE's HDTV. The main reason their analog sets weren't compatible was because PAL was better and the US went with the lower standards. If the Euro's get there first, hopefully this time they will SET the new standard based upon the "Grand Alliance's" published specification. Again, that COULD be deep-sixed if someone in our government doesn't do what's smart. Woe unto the elected officials who allow us to fall behind in THIS technological race! Write your elected rep (they mostly all have e-mail) and tell them to SET the techno-example or BE the wanna-be example. rd
