this is the point I contest, I don't think there is *any* expense, or any value to anyone in an options transaction until exercise, at which point there is something- either expense or dilution or both depending on how you view the issue.

But anyway we all know where this leads so I am signing off this discussion for now, lets hope that expensing options takes care of some of these obscene management packages because all along that has been where the real issue is. I think you and I agree on this. I am also hoping for less "job inflation" and fewer VPs in general for some of these companies that have severely downsized, and if a company like Intel has an R&D center in India, my hope would be the VP from that side of the business is also located in India- with an Indian pay package (which is about 300K for an executive)
