LOL!! CB, and that's so true! I am an amateur genealogist as well, and have been for over 25+ years...Beware of the "instant family info and crest" from Bath, Ohio, or other similar places.
Digging (so to speak) into family history is a long, and hard job if you do it right, and if you aren't going to do that, there is no point in doing any work in that regard.
When one gets back at least to ALL their 4-6th great- grandparents lines and beyond, on both maternal and paternal lines, one begins to see how silly it is to say they are only one nationality or religion.
Most of us have multi-ethnic and multi-cultural backgrounds, and are very proud of it. I have a few "noble" lines, but most are as yours....farmers, carpenters, shop keepers, ministers, and doctors. That's the guys lines. The women were all noble, for all sorts of reasons! <ggg> |
